तारीख़ मुक़र्रर कर दो सजा की मेरी,
अब मुझसे और इंतज़ार नही होता।
अब तो दम घुटता है मेरा मेरी बेगुनाही से,
गुनाह करता तो शायद इतना न परेशान होता।
दरिया क्या ही गहरा होगा, कोई तो छोर होगा!
ये शब्दों के मतलबों का अब किनारा नही मिलता।
देखो समय है अभी संभल जाओ ऐ लाल कलम वालों,
इक समझदार का बेवक़ूफ साबित होना, अच्छा नहीं होता।
वक़्त है ये ,आज तुम्हारा है तो कल मेरा भी आएगा,
पैसा, ताक़त, ग़ुरूर और समय किसी का सगा नही होता।
