इस शहर में…

इस शहर में जीने के हैं रास्ते कई
पर अपनी शर्तों पर ज़िन्दगी यहाँ आसान नहीं।

जी हुज़ूरी में मिलती नित तरक़्क़ी नई
पर ग़लत को ग़लत कहना यहाँ आसान नहीं।

इधर-उधर बनाए रखिए नज़रें कई
काम से काम रखने से होता कोई काम नहीं।

ऊँचाई पर पहुँचने को, की कोशिशें कई
इस दौड़ में भीड़ से खुद को बचना आसान नहीं।

बनने को ख़ास हमने बदले कलेवर कई
इतने बदले कि अब अपनी शक़्ल तक याद नहीं।

इस शहर में रहते हैं बड़े नाम कई और
इन नामों में अपना नाम याद रखना आसान नहीं।
